Traveling Exhibit: Arctic Wings - Miracle of Migration at the World Center for Birds of Prey
(Tuesday, 1 February - Sunday 31 July 2011)

Over forty large-format photographs by seven wildlife photographers will be on display. These powerful images tell the international story of migratory birds from across six continents and all 50 of the United States that depend on the Arctic for survival each year. This exhibit was developed by the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Seattle, in collaboration with Braided River, the conservation imprint of The Mountaineers Books.

Gyrfalcons in Iceland - Daniel Bergmann photography exhibit: conference venue at Boise State University

Daniel Bergmann has been photographing Iceland’s landscapes and wild creatures, including Gyrfalcon and Ptarmigan, for more than a decade. He is the editor of a local bird magazine published by BirdLife Iceland and author of three books on Icelandic nature. His international magazine credits include BBC Wildlife, National Geographic Traveler, CNN Traveller, TIME For Kids and RSPB’s Birds. He is working currently on a book about the Gyrfalcon in Iceland.

Open House: World Center for Birds of Prey
(Wednesday, 2 February 2011)

This event will include tours of the Velma Morrison Interpretive Center and Archives of Falconry; a showing of live birds of prey and a flight display. A light buffet will also be served. Transportation between the World Center for Birds of Prey and Boise State University will be provided.
Cost for this event is included in the registration fee.
